While covering the You Are Athlete event in Birmingham, Alabama, I had another opportunity to see Kaden Peoples of Selma High School compete in person.

Peoples is a Class of 2028 linebacker from Selma, Alabama, and he’s a player I was already somewhat familiar with. I attended a few Selma High School games last season, so seeing him again in a camp setting allowed me to evaluate how he performs against athletes from across the region.
At the event, Kaden Peoples showed why he’s beginning to generate attention as a young defensive prospect in the 2028 class. Standing 6'2" and around 210 pounds, Peoples already has the size that college programs look for in developing linebackers.
He also brings solid strength numbers for a young player, currently benching 275 pounds and squatting 345 pounds, which shows the type of physical foundation he’s building early in his high school career.
During drills and competition periods at the camp, Peoples competed well and made the most of his opportunities in front of evaluators.
His performance ultimately earned him an invitation to the You Are Athlete event in Houston, which is typically reserved for prospects who stand out during the regional showcases.
Having now seen him both during the high school season at Selma and again in a camp setting, it’s clear that Kaden Peoples is a rising prospect in the 2028 recruiting class worth keeping an eye on as he continues to develop.
